where can i get a ball

mezmerize Aug 22, 2005 10:06 PM

hey i wanna know where i can get just a standard, run of the mill, cb ball python for a decent price(not $5000). The pet shop sells them for 50, and although that price is extremely convenient, i just can't trust them when they say its a cb ball.

Try reptile shows in your area. (King snake lists these)
If not King snake classifieds always have alot of great ball pythons.
Read the FAQ pages and make sure you understand the different abbreviations and lingo.
Be sure you can easily contact the breeder,
and recieved prompt replies. I like to speak on the phone at least once. Get references. Request photos of the animal you are considering, and feeding habits. Also Make sure you are clear on shipping. ( may require you to pick up at airport, or be home to recieve)
Good luck

Many of the big breeders that you see in the classifieds and listed other places on the site do have normal cbb males and females for a reasonable price. Check out their web pages ask around - I just sold a pair of cbb males for $90 shipped. Buying from a breeder will also ensure that the snakes are established and clean and healthy - most breeders will also guarantee the health of the snake to some extent and provide you with any other help you need which is a lot more than you'll get from a pet store.

Try to find a local breeder in your area or a reptile show. Also there are many ads with breeders practically giving away their male ball pythons since they really don't need them for breeding. Another good place to look is craigslist.org and just make sure to click on your location and scroll through the pet section. I just picked up a 5ft 2000 gram female and a 3 1/2 ft male yesterday for $100 (for both) because the owner didn't have the time for them anymore.
