sexing pacman

PacMan333 Aug 22, 2005 10:39 PM

My pacman frog is now just under a half year old and is slightly over three inches. I named her Uma because I saw no darker coloration under the mouth like a male would, never heard a croak, and never saw motling under the throat. I determined her a female and named her Uma. Now Uma has slightly darker areas under her mouth that are very small, like little vertical polka dots sort of and her throat is beginning to look more "bulging." Still no croaks, but could this mean she is a he?! I've heard males can develop bulging vocal sacs, is this what this is? There really isn't any beard look to her throat though, I was just curious.

Could be heading towards being a male. Mine went exactly the same way. I think mines around 8 months and his throat really bulges when hes sitting. When the lights got out he usually let's out about 3 loud croaks - they sound more like squawks to me! Give yours another 6 weeks and you should definately be able to tell. You better not change it's name though

Yeah, I think that would be pretty cool if mine was a male and I could hear it croak! I'll post new pics in 6 months or so when I know for sure!
