20 is sounding a little too small to me. It also depends on whether its a male or a female. An adult male could probably get along just fine in a 30 gallon long while for an adult female, I would say a minimum of a 40 gallon breeder. I may be biased towards giving mine more space but anyone else who has any opinions, chime in here. Good luck.

A 20 gallon tank would work for a baby ball, but for an adult that would be too small. Sure it would fit, but it wouldn't be very healthy. As mentioned before, it depends on whether you have a male or a female. A small male could probably work in a 30 gallon long tank, but an average size male or a female would need a 40 gallon breeder tank. A 20 gallon long tank would work for a smaller snake like a 3.5' kingsnake or a 3' rosy boa, but not an adult ball python. The tank doesn't need to be very tall, it just needs to have floor space as ball pythons are generally ground dwellers.
