DH's classes started last night, he's teaching 2 nights a week at the college in the neighboring town so he leaves his company pickup at home & takes the car. It was hot & muggy last night with a cool breeze going through the carport where the truck was parked. Destiny decided to go to bed under the truck.

11 O'clock last night we're outside trying to get a 50 lb tortoise out from under there, that was fun. NOT!!
LOL
She wouldn't budge, finally DH started the truck & that upset her so she decided she wanted to move, then he had to carry her to her mansion.
What are we going to do when she's 100lbs?
Either buy different vehicles or get the driveway & carport fenced off I guess lol.

So now Destiny has been getting under the company pickup every night this week. The last 2 nights I've lured her out with mulberry leaves, what a hassle. Took me 20 minutes to get her to walk all the way to her mansion both nights.
I'd let her stay but last night at dusk as I lured her home I heard a pack of coyotes very close to our house. They can hop our fence & it scares me to know they can do that even though I know they most likely wouldn't bother a 50lb tortoise but still.. I don't the idea that they're out there.
It's this heat, we've had another bout of really high temps & she's not wanting to stay in her mansion where there isn't much of a breeze.
Can't wait for more fall like temps to arrive. blah!!

DH finally took the bottom off of her second hand wooden dog house, put it in the area where she's been wanting to stay & she's using that instead of getting under a vehicle. YAY!
We needed that bottom (floor) off the dog house because with a bottom we can't get her out of there when we need to. Without a bottom all we have to do is pull it up & she's exposed so we can move her if we need to.
Soon it will be chilly enough at night that she'll start using her mansion again, I can't wait for that.
