Ok, I am building a cage its 7ft long 4 ft tall and about 30in wide,so i can get it trough the door! Its looking really nice. If i can find my digital camera, i'll take pics to help others when buiding a cage. My main problem is lighting! I dont want to burn down my house and this is such a big cage. What are you guys take on how to set up a lighting system for these guys? How can i build a top with light with out using screen so that the heat escapes. I have even insulated the walls of the cage with this syraphome type stuff. Thanks

How are you planning to heat the cage? Going for 110 degrees basking and 80-85 cool end?

into a box. Wired like your house to control the lights. The ss7c is the only timer they have that's hard wired and will run flourescent lights. For the heat I used a 250 what red heat light wired to a rheostat. Set the heat with a temp gun. These big bulbs are expensive but they last forever when used with a rheostat. The red light is on 24-7. Building your own is fun. Enjoy the process.

I want to mount the lights to the top of the inside, but i am worried about fires. What type of wood should i use for the top and do you think his cage is getting warm enough?
