Crested gecko color

Priest Aug 23, 2005 01:44 PM

I’ve recently purchased 2 baby crested geckos. Seeing as I’ve only had them a couple days I haven’t completely memorized their colors yet. One of the two, the larger one’s back legs and lower back is considerably darker than the rest of its body. I’ll keep an eye on it to see if it gets worse or better. Maybe someone has heard of this before, maybe it’s normal, maybe it’s something to look out for. Opinions would be appreciated.

crested geckos commonly have mottling on different parts of their body. it sounds perfectly normal. it may lighten or darken depending on temp, age, and mood.
