Is it normal for beardies to change color?

icemom Aug 23, 2005 02:21 PM

Hi. My dragon is about 6 month old. I noticed that his colors appear differently throughout the day. It varies from orangy/ yellow to normal. He always retains his most bright colors on the head. What does it mean?
Thanks. Irina

i know that temperature and mood are two factors (amongst others) that will influence the dragons color. If you've ever noticed that when you bath a dragon in water that is too warm...the whites get whiter and the colors get brighter...this process also known as "fired up".

mood affects the coloration....if you ever have a sick dragon, you'll know as the colors fade and darker colors come through.
