Shipping Snakes

Hey guys,
I'm planning on shipping a baby BP to a guy in Michigan (I'm from Ohio) and was wondering if there were any tips that you might have? I think I pretty much have it figured out... fact is, I love this little girl, and I don't want to see her get hurt. Here's my plan: I'm going to overnight express ship her through FedEx. I have an appropriate sized box and I'm going to put her into an appropriate sized snake bag. Now, for padding, I was thinking about using a couple of wash clothes... will this be too much? I don't want to suffocate her. Either that or I was going to get some packing peanuts. I'm going to have them mark her as extremely fragile, as well (they said they would put stickers and such on the box). Does this sound like an okay plan? I just want to get her there... I'm a worried mama...

Also, do you think I should use a heat pak this time of year? The temps during the day are around 85... but nighttime temps are below 70.

Unfortunately, none of the shipping companies (including FedEx) will KNOWINGLY let you ship reptiles without a special contract. It takes jumping through some hoops to get it, not difficult, but too time consuming for just one shipment.

I heard, a long time ago, that US Air was still taking shipments from unknown shippers. Don't know if that is still true.

If you get that part figured out, here is a good link for packaging / shipping info (below).

Good luck!
