Reverse Okeetee Lineage

CJBianco Aug 24, 2005 10:56 AM

Hello, everyone.

Is the Reverse Okeetee a natural occuring amelanistic variant of the Okeetee, or was a separate Non-Okeetee amelanistic originally bred into the Okeetee line?

(So many Albino lines to figure out!)

Thanks In Advance,
Chris

reverse okeetee or albino okeetee is just a fancy term for an amel with thick white borders. they could, i suppose, also be called high white amels, but that doesnt sound as catchy

Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression that not all nice Amels could produce Okeetee offsprint, even if they look like Reverse Okeetees. I guess I've been schooled.

reverse okeetees have nothing whatsoever to do with the okeetee line. its just called that because it looks like the reverse of a normal/okeetee. if it looks like a reverse okeetee and has big bold white borders, its a reverse okeetee. sucky white or barely there borders, just call it an amel

IF i recall, however, the first reverse okeetee showed up all at once, with big fatty white borders, so im thinking its a gene that gives you the nice definition, where an amel is just "no black pigment". Kathy Love can confirm or deny that?
