how many people use sand with there beardies???also do baby beardies just die for no reason or is that a lie???thanx in advance

sand is one of those subjects that brings out different opinions. Can beardies become impacted because of sand- if injested: yes. Will all beardies that are on sand injest it: no. Is it more likely to happen if they are fed on sand: yes.

Saying that, I have mine on sand and that is all he has ever known. He does not eat in his cage, we have a papered enclosure for that. Does that mean he will never get impacted from it? No, but at this time we are being real careful and will be moving him to carpet soon just to be on the safe side.

Now for the second question. Yes it is possible for there to be no reason found for a beardie to die. However most of the time they can do a necropsy and determan at least some of the factors that may have attributed to it, if not the reason its self. Most of the time though the reason can be found.

Nothing does for no reason.

It would just be that no one knew why it died.
