Maybe a stupid question

hevychevy427 Aug 24, 2005 01:56 PM

I know that dragons need their veggies. I seem to have trouble finding fresh mustard, collard, dandylion etc...all I get is parsley, and some lettuce varieties. In order to get fresh peas, carrots, beans...can I get a bag of frozen italian or soup veggies and take some and thaw them out at room temp...or will this harm him?
Thanks Nancy

Try the Spring Mix by Dole and pick out the spinach. It's a great mix of greens for beardies and can be found at most grocery stores. Make sure to check the expiration date. I like to make sure that I have at least a week to use it before it expires.

As far as the frozen soup veggies, it depends on what is in it. I use frozen green beans, squashes and carrots, but that's usually all I buy frozen. You might want to check on the nutrition content list on my site to see if it's a good veggie to be feeding on a daily basis or if it shouldn't be fed very often.

Good luck,
Veronica

If you have a Meijers by you, they by far have the best selection of veggies. But you do have to by more than what you will probably use on one beardie before it goes bad. The prepackaged lettuce mix is also a good idea. When you put it away try to make it as air tight as possible and the lettuce will stay good a lot longer. Cara
