The Longest/Largest Snake in Captivity

serplover Jul 17, 2003 06:22 PM

I'm posting this in several forums. What is the longest/largest snake currently in captivity? Is it in a zoo or zoo type facility or possibly under a private person's care? Pictures if possible, please.

I volunteer weekly at the Memphis zoo, and walk past the reticulated python enclosure several times. I've heard him described as being anywhere from 25-30 feet long. IT eats pigs. He's a real beauty, and I've heard from the curators that visitors from other zoos have noted that he's the biggest they've seen in several zoos. I don't know about THE biggest, but I thought I'd add my two cents.
