hi guys....

I have just discover this little hooks under my dwarf caiman low jaw (mouth)....

does any one knows something about it...??? what are they for...??? does males and females have them...???

if anyone knows, please tell me everything you know about them.... I´m really curious about it...

you can see them in the red circle...

Hi Rick,

Yes I have seen those. My alligators have them as well. I am not exactly sure of their purpose, but the only time I have actually seen them totally exposed is when I have pissed them off somehow. I believe that it might aid them during high intensity hisses or something while air is being pushed through at a higher rate.

That is only my GUESS, so please don't quote it as I am most likely wrong.

Those are musk glands.Males have large ones.They will even pop out.I have seen them in dark blue color to pink.

Well,

At first I wasn't quite sure. I decided to go back and review the terms of service, and I saw where they claim that the same message posted, in more than 4 forums is considered "spam". So,I suppose the moderator of the forums decided to remove my post regarding the attempted ban in florida, out of this forum, anacondas, and snakes:general. The others venomous, burmese, retics, and herp law have all been left in tact. So I suppose that is what I had done wrong. I was supposed to contact and request permission before posting the same message in more than 4 forums.

I think common sense alone could tell them if their forums were being spammed. I tried requesting why right here on this forum, but I guess the moderator wasn't "at liberty to discuss it".

OH well it's only our rights as hobbyists that are getting trashed right?!? Why would they care?
