dark splotches around mouth

banjomcgraw Aug 24, 2005 07:55 PM

My 5-month old ball has recently developed small dark spots on her lower jaw. Basically, the spaces in between the scales have darkened and look sort of...splotchy. She doesn't show any particular sensitivity around her jaw. Her eyes, nose and the rest of her mouth are clear, and her appetite, behavior and breathing are normal. Any idea what this is? Any suggestions?

poss. mites??

I don't think so, unless this is a symptom of mites I hadn't heard of. I've looked her over pretty carefully, and there are no white critters anywhere on her body, and the splotches don't move at all.

Could it be some kind of fungus or something?
