How long should it take for a Burm to poop

mdias Aug 24, 2005 08:47 PM

I just bought a Albino burm 3 weeks ago, and I have fed it 3 mice already, and he has still not pooped. Should I be worried?
I would appreciate any suggestion.
Thank you
Mike

This is not advice from a trained medical person, just what I read in a book called "What is wrong with my snake?" When my snake hadn't pooped in awhile I injected a rat with mineral oil. This loosened things up and the problem went away. My snake hadn't crapped for nearly 2 months and had been feeding regularly. There is a formula in the book that explains how much oil to use based on either the length or weight (forget which) of the snake. Since you're feeding mice I don't think it would be much. I wouldn't use this method just from me telling you about it. Wait and see if one of the more knowledgable people from the site concur or not or maybe they have a better suggestion.

Good luck
