It's me again......

OK, who's tired of hearing about my litters...I know I am.

Litter #5 dropped tonight, not sure what I am doing right but must be something. She laid her litter in the damp hide as 3 of the other 4 did. Except, she laid them between the peat moss and the green moss. Then I believe she left the hide and went back in on top of the green moss. Yes, the babies were under her. Had it not been for one poking it's head out the hole, I would not have known. All babies were fine even with mom on top of them. 20 healthy slimers and one slug. I was checking my records and so far each litter has been the largest produced by that female.

Who else is having success?

Pics were after removing several babies, they wanted to go explore and I had my hands full just keeping up with the ones that were leaving the box.

This is after removing about half of the babies and almost all of thE green moss, still quite a few babies in the central pile

See what I mean about ready to leave

and my two remaining gravid females, both huge

This one I expect will not be beating her record, she gave me 31 healthy babies last year
(she is pretty darn huge though, hmmmm)

Dave,
...Your consistently good results with so many big litters in a row is highly impressive.

I'm certainly not going to change a thing. This is wild, in the last few years, I've gone from:

2000 and 2001 mostly slug outs and one good litter per year 20ish
2002 all slugs
2003 a few small litters 36 total
2004 5 small litters and one monster total 83
2005 5 great litters (total 110) and still two more to go

in 03 and 04 I basically equaled my entire prior production And and now 05 looks like I'll be close to doing it again

2000 - 2003 had four breeding females
2004 added two of age holdbacks from 2001
2005 added one adult purchased at show in 2004

Wow, I am getting jealous now. Looks to me like you'll be posting a litter of #6's later tonight. I am happy for you. You obviously are doing things right! Now the question is....just what is it that you're doing?

I'm feeling left out and sad....very sad.

a trade secret and if I told you I'd have to kill you.

I'll post later when I have time in a new thread. Not sure what is working but something sure is!!

Congratulations! Great job, don’t forget to give us forum lurkers the insider tip before you post them for sale. They look like they will be special.
