I built a very large rack to hold large Iris tubs. It is about 82" x 32" x 48". Here is a picture of it in my old garage:

I was housing 2.2 Rhino Ratsnakes (Rhyncophis boulengeri) in the bottom level of this rack and it was working well.
However, we bought a new house and when we moved this rack the center front caster (seen in above photo) snapped off.
The room I temporary set the rack up in has an uneven floor and I did not account for this. Between the caster snapping off and the eneven floor, the bottom row of the rack flexed ever so slightly.
To make a long story short, it increased the gap enough that one of the male Rhyncophis escaped. I found this out late at night and was absolutely freaking out. We had open boxes everywhere and the room was not secure - just a temporary setup while we moved in.
I was cursing my stupidity and going through everything looking for this snake when it dawned on me to check and see if any of the other snakes had also escaped.
Well, the upshot of this story is that I found him all tangled up with the female in the tub right next door. The male had escaped his cage and managed to squeeze in with the girl next door
There is no doubt this is what happened as I had seen the four snakes in their own cages earlier that day.
And now I'm rewarded with this:

Sorry for the lousy picture, but you get the point.
I guess this is one situation where an escape is a good thing as I had no intention of pairing the snakes up that early. The other pair also produced a clutch which should hatch any day now.
