Sleeping Ambilobe

urbanjungles Aug 25, 2005 08:13 PM

Couldn't help but snap this shot of my new Ambilobe while he slept...

I can't wait to see what he's going to look like especially since he's only 3 months old and showing some very exciting colors already!

At 3 months old?? WOW! He's going to be a real stunner when he's older! Just curious, where did you purchase him at? Thanks, and good luck with your beautiful guy!

Thanks so much! I'm very excited about this guy.
He came from my buddy Matt Jillson in CA. He's got a few littermates to my animal that he's just making available now. Not only is the baby I got from him double the size of most 3 month olds and showing rediculous color already...check out the colors on his Dad below! I hope my baby's HALF as nice as his Dad.

If anyone's interested, PM or email me and I'll give you the link to an add that Matt just put up on another website for this clutch.

thanks again for the compliments, I couldn't be happier with this guy!

I JUST ordered 3 chams from Matt. He sent me the very same pic as an example. He's sending me your guy's sister, plus another female from another clutch, and a male from a third clutch. All unrelated.
I spoke with Matt for a little while about the trio. He stated that all 3 were F1, so they're totally unrelated to any bloodlines currently available. Some were the product of one or both WC parents. Imagine that. HUGE babies at 3 months AND fresh blood!
Because of the heat, he's not sending mine until very early next week. I really can't wait!

Victor,
You are going to LOVE them, as you said...not only amazingly gorgeous animals, but bloodlines that are not represented in most collections...you can't go wrong.

good luck Victor, be sure to post pics when you get them, I'd love to see littermates!!!

Yeah, those are Australian Prickly stick insects (Extatasoma tiaratum). I'm lucky enough to manage a large living collection at a museum and those are some of my charges...coincidentally, Chameleons LOVE them as snacks although most people can't legally obtain them without special permits from the USDA.

Please excuse the mess, I'm still working on my website.

Can a snake like that make it in the wild? I mean, with it being so white like that wouldn't it be easily spotted by predators and it's prey? Where do they originate? Sorry for all the questions....it's just such a rare looking snake...I've never seen one like that so I'm curious as to how they survive.
Thanks for all the info!
