Reccomendations for lighting? 5.0 or 10.0?

chamcham505 Aug 25, 2005 08:22 PM

Hey everyone,

I know there was a discussion further down the forum about a panther chameleon using a 10.0 UVA/UVB light, but I was just curious about a young veiled chameleon. Do you think it would endanger or harm a 1-3 month old veiled to use a repti-sun 10.0? I was just curious about the growth rate, and if it would affect a young veiled. All input is appreciated, thanks so much!

Michele

Exo Terra Recomends a Combined setup with BOTH a 2.0 AND a 5.0 bulb. Here are what each bulb Provides:

2.0 Full spectrum daylight lamp
• Stimulates plant growth
• High visual light output
• UVA (25%) stimulates appetite, activity and reproductive behavior
• UVB (2%) promotes Vitamin D3 synthesis

5.0 For reptiles with high UV requirement
• Ideal for all tropical and sub-tropical reptiles
• High UV output
• UVA (30%) stimulates appetite, activity and reproductive behavior
• UVB (5%) promotes Vitamin D3 synthesis

• Recommended in combination with Repti Glo 2.0

You need the 2.0 to get the LOW WAVELENGTHS of light.

5.0 - 2.0
