How can you tell a fire from a normal? I know this has been asked before but I can't find any of the posts. Pictures to go with answers would be great. I looked in the hunters guide but one has not been made for fire balls.
Thanks,
Louie

and should be priced the same as a yellow belly.....actually it should be priced less. The yellow belly produces much more then the fireball, but then again the ones who own it claim that the black eyed lucy is the most sought after ball python in the world..That's funny. Good luck finding a fireball, there is probably 1 in every 10 homes in america.
There is a huge difference between a fire and a normal. When side by side you can easily tell the difference. People want lucy's more than ivory's therefore Lucy's and het lucys (fireballs) will command much higher prices than yellow bellies (het ivory) and ivory's. Also lots of "yellow bellies" are imported each year therefore driving the prices down.

How do you know FireBalls produce less? What have they been crossed with so far? I don't think FireBalls are as common as you think.

they aren't. They've only been on the market since 2004 (i believe). Plus have an albino fireball would produce albinos, het albinos, and fireballs, albino fireballs, het albino fireballs. So with virtually any animal you are increasing the number of different animals by a lot.
Plus a red eyed lucy (albino lucy) would be sweet looking.

I've seen pics of fires breeding normals and had to ask wich was wich cause it looked like 2 normals to me with one being a nicer looking normal but not really standout different but in person I'm sure it is easier to tell. As for being more in demand, I would buy a lesser before a fire, I don't think the black eye lucy's should be called lucy's since they do have random yellow and black color on them, none of them are pure white patternless like the platinum line of blue eye lucies.

Ball Pythons
'The person who has it' ??? We have never claimed the Fireball or Blackeyed Leucistic to be the most sought after ball python in the world. We have produced five Blackeyed Leucistics since our first male was hatched in 2002 and haven't made claims about any of them. Ember Reptiles. UK.
When you do Fireball x Fireball and produce the Black eyed Lucy, Which in my opinion is the best looking Lucy or Ivory ball period, who cares what a fireball looks like when you're after the black eye in the end. Heck, half the morphs that didn't intrest me in the begining, have gone on my need to get list after seeing the super form or seeing them crossed with some other morph.
Here's a shot my friend took from Daytona at Constrictors Unlimited table. Great T-Shirt too, Back reads "Want a Black Eye? Get in Line."

First of all you can without a doubt tell a fire from a normal here is a site with some fireball characteristics with a few lucys. I hope he doesnt mind he was the first to produce the fires. http://community.webshots.com/user/herpquest
scroll down to the pic of the leucistic eye and a fire and a normal are in the pic below that one.
