bearded dragon eggs

maul99 Aug 26, 2005 09:01 AM

i am just starting breeding some dragons and after three weeks of incubation some of the eggs shell are kinda transparent. they are not bright white like many of the pictures i have seen. they are bing incubated at 84 degrees with high humidy. I am using a hovabator incubator and perlite as medium. All eggs look fine no mold and they are growing compared to the eggs she just laid. I was just woundering if anyone else has had this oproblem, is it normal, am i doing something wrong? any advise would be helpful.

As long as they are clear of mold, not obviously dead, and still growing, I wouldn't worry. My experience with eggs is limited however, and would wait for other's opinions and/or check in on the bearded dragon forum

Believe it or not you can have too much humidity (most likely the vermiculite is too wet)when incubating Beardie eggs.I had this happen with one clutch try lowering the humidity to 65-70%and keep a close ckeck on them when they get white instead of clear then return the humidity to 80-90% and everything should be fine.I am no pro however this worked for me.If this isnt your problem then I would say your female was calcium deficient at partrition.Hope this helps!
