Well I am back in town and had a really good day. I went over to see Ben and bring him some baby snakes J (It is his B-day by the way) But when I got home I found that my first batch of corn snakes were hatching out. Now I know this is a boa forum, but I still like my corns snakes too! I had some really neat Striped Snows and Striped Ghost Corns in the batch this time.
My Oldest daughter is still in Peru (I am thinking of leaving her there LOL) and still working on the education center for the village outside of Lima. Boy that area is much different then I pictured. I assumed that all of Peru is Lush and green, but the Pacific Coast is very arid like with brown (dirt) hills. Even though they are a costal area they get a very little amount of rain (In comparison to the Amazon area). The class system is stunningly different. You are either very well off or very poor, and I don’t mean living in a trailer Park with Satellite TV poor! This is a poor that is hard to imagine if you have never seen it. It is very hard to describe. But the people are friendly and I think it has been a good experience for my oldest daughter (she will be back by Sunday).
When She comes home we are taking a nice family Disney Vacation and going to try and relax some.
I don’t know about you guys but I am looking forward to The Expo this year. I’m going up a day early to see the last day of the HOT snake expo before the main show starts. I hope to see a bunch of you guys there.
But speaking of trips, The Wife and I have sent in our deposits for the Hiss -N- Things Costa Rica trip. If you have not seen it it looks like a pretty good deal. 7 days in an all inclusive Eco resort (all inclusive = free food and booze) flights there and back and car rental (Plus Jim with hiss -n- Things to guide us) all for under $1,100.00 per person. That is cheap and sounds like a good time, if any of you guys are interested (I could use another Boa Nut on the trip and yea they find Boas too!)
Well I guess I am just rambling on now with out a point so I will stop. It is good to be back home and when I get the pictures developed I will post some of them (I used only 35mm instead of any digitals).
Later
Jim Hopkins
