question about side biting

jeune18 Aug 26, 2005 10:57 AM

i have read to always make sure uros are not biting each other's sides so i have always checked their sides just to make sure agression was not going on in the cage. well i found one hard spot on hugo's side and i am a little concerned. i have never noticed any kind of aggression going on in the cage. they eat together, they bask together, they aren't acting weird. helga hides alot, but she has always done that and both of them are chubby little things.
anyway, does one bite cause the hard spot? like could it have been a fluke thing where hugo startled helga in the hidespots or when i gave them a couple crickets last week, one was on hugo but helga missed the cricket? also is there anything i can do for the hard spot? i am definitely watching them more closely right now.
thanks for any advice

When there's been aggression I've seen CLEAR signs of physical hostility including torn scales and moon-shaped bloodied bite marks. You'll know these when you see them... I'll try to get a picture of one tonight. They seem to go for the flanks so they seem to occur on the sides and legs.
No idea what the hard spot might be. One of my geyri had a bump due to an irritation or old parasite that the vet just pulled off.
