derma ball

csiviper Aug 26, 2005 02:46 PM

how common is it. i have what i consider to be a normal male that happens to have the supposed het pied markings on the belly and a great reduced pattern. but i have noticed over the last few sheds that more and more of his head is turning up scaleless when he sheds.the color is there but lighter and it has a smmoth feel. he eats everything in sight, sheds perfect sheds everytime so i dont believe it is a problem. i am just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. i will get some pics tonight and post them.

my guy is missing some scales shed after shed
but I do not anticipate him being like the dermaball
even though I think its a neat looking snake

my guys head looks normal, except the scales are missing on the head and "shoulder" area (bottom of the neck)

probably has nothing to do with the derma ball stuff... my first guess would be that you are keeping it too dry and it is caused by bad sheds.. I've seen that before when keeping my snakes too dry.. it eventually healed up and is now back to normal...

good luck,
Bristen.
