Looking to get a Tegu

What type of tegu can I permanentley keep in a 55 gallon.

None, really.

Tegus get big. They need to be able to move around and dig, and they need a humid hide box as well. They grow quickly. If I were planning to get my first tegu I'd be thinking about where I'd put the 6 or 8 foot cage in the future.
