I really shouldn't say that because it reminds me of when people say they hate snakes, but it's true. I don't mind the big hairy ones so much because they move rather slow, but I really detest those fast moving mudders that hang out near water, in your shower, or on your bedroom floor. When I was little I even used to hold those big orb weavers we called banana spiders, but I started hating them when my dad moved us into the attic for our bedroom and I would get up in the morning with big welts on arms and legs, etc. Never really got over that.

Your a hell of a lot braver than I am. That's one big spider. Randy

Congrats. Very nice spider. I used to have 8 of them, various species, and it was always nerve racking to let someone hold one if they were nervous. I always invisioned my babies flying across the room if the person freaked out and flicked them. Thankfully that never happened, as it seems didn't happen to you either. Just think of them as hamsters with extra legs LOL they are so cute and fuzzy! Was that a Rosie? If so, they are generally very calm and a great species to handle for the first time. My fav are Pink Toes but they are a bit harder to hold because they are jumpers. I'm glad you survived the experience, definitely a step in the right direction!
