What do y'all use to hold down your heat tape? Duct tape ain't cuttin' it!

Hey,

Ok, the duct tape is peeling back off the heat tape, making it difficult for me to pull out & reinsert my rubbermaids! What do you guys & gals use to 'tack it down!'?

Thanks,

Steve & Laurie Harrison

Yah the foil tape is great! If you cant find that I also found the strong 3M clear packing tape works great.

Aluminum flashing over the top of the tape held down with silicone caulk. That way the tape is completely encased.

I tried the aluminum tape and thought my problems were solved but it also began to peel up when pulling out the tubs. The rack just had too little clearance and the adhesive on the foil tape wasn't that great. The rack is one that came as a kit that someone had put together and then put their own tubs in. It was given to me so I can't complain much. The only way I could make it stop peeling up the tape was to go with the thin clear packing tape. In racks that I built myself, I use duct tape. It sticks very well and there is enough clearance that it doesn't peel up. I hope the foil keeps working for you but if not, go with the thin stuff.

3M Hi Stregth 90 spray-on adhesive. Check it out. I started using it when I began having the same problems with foil tape getting caught on tubs.
