So I caught my first gopher today. Its a juvenile who just happened to cross my path as I was in pursuit of fence lizard. Needless to say I forgot about the fence lizard and grabbed the gopher. I'm keepin him overnight so that I can take good photos of him tomorrow but will be releasing him where he was found tomorrow eveing. So, I have attached three images of him. Can anyone help me out with an ID and scientific name? I am not familiar with this family's species/subspecies names, taxonomy, etc. He was collected in Berkeley, California to help with the ID. Thanks.

Looks like a Pacific Gopher Snake (Pituophis catenifer catenifer).
