i have 14 balls and one of them does something ive never sean any of them do.i got it from a phon # a friend gave me .igot 1.1 about 400g balls and a 55 gallon tank and stand with a 15 gallon feeding tank and all the fixens for $100.they were on bath towels with a heat rock and a back heat pad in the towels.ok i only have one of the snakes now.when i got it,it had a burn scare over 40% of its back end ,on top of the spin.i had it for about a year and it eats drinks and all that fine .but i have heard if making a strange sound 5 times or more.it does it for about 30 seconds and stops.i hear it about once every 3 weeks, but i have heard it more often the last 3 times.ok this is what its doing.it turns its tail up like its going to take a dump and she acts like shes regergetating but all that comes out is a fart like burpping sound.it looks like a seizure or some thing.has any one had this happen before?i will take it to vet soon ,but had to ask a pro or just someone that has alot of balls that may have seen this before . thanks for any replys... p.s. it came from a pet shop.

use a under the tank heat pad, which goes under the tank not in it. That should stop the burning. -Joe

True the heat rock is not the problem, but they can cause serious burns to your bp.

I've had a similar incident with a WC ball from a rescue that was parasite ridden - I've also heard that this dry heave kind of activity could be a sign of crypto - take them all to the vet and hope for the best.

Take it to a good herp vet.
...maybe it has ingested something that cant be digested..or maybe parasites?

Hi,

I had the same thing happen to me like 2 years ago when I purchased to females from a breeder and I believe that they were actually wild caught because they were only eating gerbils. Anyway, I accidentily introduced these 2 new girls to the other females I had and they all took turns doing that thing you described with the body all straightened out and the tail up like they are ready to take a dump and the mouth open wide and they just make this noise and look like they are going to vomite or fart or something. I was scared the first time I seen it because I usually would hear it from the snake room and by the time I would go there it would stop. Anyway, I took them all 8 snakes to the vet because I didn't want to take chances even with the ones that did not do it yet and he gave them some shots every week for like 6-8 weeks and they have never done it since. I later sold the 2 snakes that I believed caused this problem for me. Hope this helped.
