Hypo Nicaraguan Boa Questions

crash25744 Aug 27, 2005 09:48 PM

I'm thinking of purchasing a 1.1 of Hypo Nicaraguan Boas. My questions about them would be. How old do they have to be to breed? How long do they get? What size clutch do they have? And as far as investments what's your opinion about them? Any other info. would be great. Thanks, Dale

Not to sound harsh....But Hypo Nics are pretty spendy,They can be several thousand dollars for a nice pair. and if you don't even know that nics usually stay smaller than other BCI's ....I would have to say don't waste your money. If your into them and have a chunck of change burning a hole in your pocket then go for it, I think its going to be a short wave though, The central american hypo will just be refined like the hypos are today, and now you can pick up a nice hypo for $250. And to me the hypo thing has been done, Rich Ihle from salmonboa.com has taken the Hypo to another level. I know I will get slammed for this comment, but I think the market won't last long on the hypo centrals, at least at those high prices. But to answer your questions....They average about 5-6 feet, smaller than most BCI's, most of the so called hypos on the market are farm imported, and not proven...thats another thing, lots of those "Hypo's" are not proven, so you are taking a risk by getting them...if you do get them get them from a knowledgable person. Don't want to burst your bubble, cause they are cool, I just think waiting till the "hype" settles down would be better. Ask some of these people selling them about nics, pick some peoples brains, and then make a choice. Good Luck
