Outside enclosures?

phishnuts Aug 28, 2005 07:54 AM

Does anyone have an put side enclosure? I am thinking of building one here in NJ for the summer months but am not sure if the humidity is right? Any info is appreciated.

which I have out in the screen pool enclosure. The Reptariums vary from 65 gal size to 165 gal, and are filled with live plants.

I live in SW Florida and have had them outside since about late April or early May. They are doing great! I expect that I will have to bring them in or do something drastically different in about early to mid November or so. Last winter, I had them in the same Reptariums in the house, with ceramic heat bulbs on them. The snakes and the plants had some humidity issues, but came through ok. This winter, I think I will get hubby to build a little plastic enclosure in the pool area, and try to heat that. The humidity will be higher there.

In NJ, your outdoor time may be limited, since it is almost Sept. now. You might be able to get by a little longer in the spring and fall with some extra heat and humidity. I would be more concerned with ETBs than my ATBs, as the former seem less forgiving of imperfect conditions.
