patrickb Jul 17, 2003 10:04 PM

I wanted to see if anyone could help with the ID for this chameleon. Im thinking its a Brookesia, but not sure on the species.

Thanks,
Patrick

The following three photos are the same female. She is about 2.5 inches in total length.

This is a much smaller male, about 1.5".

Hello,

She appears to be Rhampholean Uluguruensis. They have the Blue coloration on the Eye Turrets. I was the first person to import this species into the US last year. If you have any questions please feel free to let me know.

Thanks for the ID! Now I realize why I couldnt figure it out. Any tips on captive care, breeding, etc. I'm keeping the pair in a sixteen gallon tall aquarium with soil substrate. Lots of leaf litter and good climbing space. The female looks ready to pop so I'm assuming she is gravid. I was planning on incubating the eggs in the tank. Have you had any success breeding this species? Any advice would be appreciated.

Patrick
