how can i mount a basking light to the roof of this cage so that my beardie has more room and heat.

jUst mount it right on the underside of the top. Get a wire cage to put around the bulb itself so the dragon can't get into physical contact with the hot bulb, or keep it's climbing surfaces low enough so the dragon can't get within 8" of the bulb.
