I can already hear you guys revving up. Josh06 is waiting to tell me I am worrying too much, and so forth, but what can I say, I just like talking to you folks, and I dont have much to say today.

I got lots of new stuff today, gonna replace my old watering hole with a new one I picked up... I got ahold of a piece of nice ceramic tiling that I am fitting into the bottom of my terra cotte hide away to hold the moss and be a bit more humid. Abbie is still eating like a champ, downed at least 5 crix and 1 meal worm. Nanner wont eat a bit, just watches the stuff crawl by. She's really worrying me.. what should I do?? I thought maybe the change in food might spur her into action, not even watching Abbie seems to help.

sometimes they just act that way give her some time I fully understand you worrying I have one female that is a problem eater I mean she eats only when her tail starts shrinking, she will hog down for a few days fatten up and then stop again. Maybe the female leos are subconsious about having a fat tail LOL. If you soak a terra cotta bowl or pot in water it will retain moisture for some time too if it helps.

Hey geeboo, when you soaked the terra cotta bowl, didnt it smell. I know when I tried to wash a few, they smelled bad until they dried out. I blowdried them...lol.

lol. As long as she is looking healthy and isnt losing weight she is fine. Just keep trying to feed her and she should come around when she gets hungry enough. Or you could not try to feed her for about 3 days and then try and feed her, it might strike her interest.

I tried the waiting game, no dice. I am not sure if she looks healthy. She kind of lays there lazily with her eyes have open and only moves rarely or if I'm messing with stuff inside the tank. It also always looks like her face is wet, but if I rub it I dont feel moisture, its just like shiny... its worrying me.

Jeff, Is she by herself or sharing a habitat with other leos? I have 4 leos in one box and I almost never see one of them eat. However, I do have 4 other leos that all have their own boxes. 2 of them because they are too agressive about eating and I don't want them to eat all the food before the others get a chance, and 2 that are little and I want to make sure they're eating like they should. If you haven't already, maybe you should pull her out, give her her own box so that you can monitor her more closely. Sometimes reptiles don't eat when they have cagemates because of competition/intimidation or other reasons.

PS. I don't think you're worrying too much.

Well, she is a good 2-3 inches bigger then Abbie, plus she was in the tank by herself for almost 3 days before Abbie arrived. So I thank you for the good information, but I just think shes being stubborn. She has become more active and stalks the cage, she just refuses to eat..

So, she was alone and in a new home for a few days and then a "friend" was placed in the same home with her? And, she still wont eat?

Well, most reptiles go through a "I'm not going to eat because I'm in a strange environment" phase...if she didn't eat for the first 3 days, that's probably why. And, then when her friend appeared, her world was rocked again.

If I were you, I'd give her her own space to keep an eye on her and see how it goes. If she hasn't eaten in some time, that could be a sign that something else is wrong so she shouldn't be with the other leo anyway...just in case.
