Difficulty to set up a vivarium...

lilroach56 Aug 28, 2005 09:00 PM

I'm thinking about makeing a vivarium in a 10 gallon. Either a crested gecko, some kind of day gecko, or a dart frog/s. Is it difficult to set up and maintain a vivarium?

Also could you recomend some plants that are very hardy and wouldn't die from the use of a gecko?

Would D. leucomelas make a good dart frog for a beginner? Would two males in the same cage fight?

I don't know anything about geckos, but 2 males in a 10 would be fine and wouldn't fight. Good luck finding two males. They are hard to find.

Setting up the tanks is easy with enough research and practice. There is tons of info online. Learn from other's mistakes.

The first tank I started I bought a kit from black jungle, if you are new to dart frog set ups its a good way to go. I eventually found things that I preferred to their decor ( plants and accents etc.) but their stuff wasnt without its charm.
