I would try it with my CBB scarlet king...
nothing goofy about it...takes alot of hard work esp with
a squirrely elapsoides....

I've never seen a scarlet do that, here's a pueblan, sinaloan and red milk.

thanks for looKING

You have some nice Milks there. I just picked me up some milks for the first time. An 05 Pueblan and an 05 Mexican Milk. If you like Pueblans, you'll like Mexican Milks. Both get around the same size, but the Mexican Milks are much more calm. Here is my female Pueblan I picked up Saturday at a show.

What's neat about these guys is if you look at the Scarlet King posted above, and now look at this guy, you can see how they kind of look simular, with the goal for both to mimic the coral snake.

.
I dont know why certain people have badgered you about your feeding photos in the past....I think the photos are great and I dont think people appreciate the patience it takes to get some snakes to do that, esp snakes like milks that sometimes seem to spaz out when handled. I dont consider my snakes "pets" like my dog, but at the same token they just arent egg producing machines that I store in shoeboxes....I think its healthy to take them out and exercise them and "interact" with them to a degree...
I don't know either, oh-well not my problem, I've always enjoyed feeding snakes ever since i was a young boy and i always will.
You've got a great scarlet collection!
It's a challange to get one of those on rodents, let alone eating rodents in hand. Excellent looking little SK.
Steve
...about 6 or 7 years ago that ate from my hand the morning after I found him. A friend was holding him, and he started chewing into my friend's hand. So I got the idea to hold a brown anole up to him, and he took it right away, and swallowed it in my friend's hand. To this day I have not found another scarlet king that cool.
I once caught a scarlet king and 5 minutes later found a ground skink and hand fed the skink holding the snake in the other hand.
my conclusion is the feeding response of elapsoides to ground skink is just overwhelming and even bypasses their flee response.
however, I couldnt get that particular snake to even look at anoles let alone pinks...I did release the snake since I didnt have a steady supply of skinks and I had enough SKs anyhow.
here is a photo of that SK.

Norm, I knew you were gonna tell that story.
I was just thinking about it... I had a scarlet king that looked like exactly like that a little while back. Traded it off as an "Apricot" Scarlet King.
Nice pics. How about a eastern king eating a brown snake in your hand?

Mike, I you are the only guy I know who has less snakes at the end of every week (LOL). i bet you also knew this photo was coming...the sk could not get the job done...the tantilla left presumably shaken up but unharmed and the sk has been a converted pinkie eater since...
Mike, I you are the only guy I know who has less snakes at the end of every week (LOL).
That there made me laugh lol. It's more or less true though.
That one scarlet king that is probably 90% black still looks spectacular. I've given up on the scarlet kings that don't eat snakes. I had 2 adults and 4 babies this year... One of the babies starved to death, with one I forgot how quickly they dehydrate
, the other pair of babies were worm eaters according to the person I got them from, I sold one and gave the other away. The adults I traded since they wouldn't eat the skinks on any regular basis.
Pfff. Give me a ringneck snake anyday lol.

how about a eastern eating a western in a hand? (don't ask any questions)

I dont even want to ask how that happened!
I don't blame you for not wanting to ask how it happened. It was a case of pure carelessness, good thing i'm usually more careful about my snakes.
So how did it happen?
Looks like it's eating a neonate cali king.
I always wondered if a eastern king would eat a cali king. I guess curiosity killed the cat on this one. Err.... the snake.
Hmm... I think I might have to get some pics of a coral snake eating another in my hands.

eveyone knows YOU are the most DISTURBED of the DISTURBEST!
You should stick with diadophis and quit acting suicidal foolish with the more venomous, PLEASE!!!
lol. I'm gonna get some in-hand coral feeding pics just for you!
More venomous? Pff... I'd send you data comparing ringnecks/corals... but you might get scared realizing you are downsizing something way too much.

.
lol actually I've probably found 2 dozen and it seems to me that everyone I ever brought home ate pinkies imediately without a problem. I can't say I ever tried handfeeding though.
all will chow down on skinks, many on anoles, but it usually takes some work to get them on pinks...
last year I had 26 CBB newborn SKs from 4 separate clutches and not one would take unscented pink parts.....
if you ever get a high black female please let me know....
Norm, I know a couple other people in FL that have almost 90% success with getting WC to eat unscented mice as their first meal. It all depends on where in FL you find them.
