How many people are working with Black White Lip Pythons?

bendig Aug 29, 2005 10:52 AM

Seems to me not too many people are trying to breed this species, I currently know of four or five people who are, not including myself. Females are impossible to find, I acquired mine by pure luck. My pair are the centerpeice of my collection. Easily my favorite of all the pythons. They are more docile than the golden or brown D'Alberts, but my female is the most aggresive snake I have ever seen. My male is docile once out of the cage but has become very cage aggresive since hitting breeding age. Gonna get some good pics to post soon. Lets see pics of everyone else's!

Well, they are quite rare as the export quotas are limited to 450 /year for all white-lipped pythons! The black ones only occur at Merauke up to the south west of Irian Jaya south of the Fak Fak region and only few are found there at remote places.

I always wanted to work with them, but actually I couldn't get hold of even young animals yet If there is someone in Europe who would sell some I'd be with him!

Cheers,
Wulf
