Hurricane Katrina?? Everyone OK?

lele Aug 29, 2005 11:08 AM

I hope all of you in the path of this storm have fared well and that your animals are OK, too. I am sure I speak for many in saying we are thinking of you and send you safe thoughts

our neighbors and critters. I believe they are now going to evacuate EVERYONE, as far as critters I'm sure many mnay of them have perished. Many are lost displaced, hurt and frieghtened.

Many groups of people are trying to help by offering foster care/homes for pet birds, ..... all kinds of pets.

Unimaginable ,Loss and sufferring for those poor people.

God Bless them all and we as a people have to help as best we can.

...making dinner and listening to the radio last night. I was overwhelmed by a sense of guilt - having my home, my critters, my "stuff", my food, my water, my electricity, my vehicle and I was dry. I can't hop a plane and go down to help so I have to figure out what best to do from this end. For anyone who donates clothing, money, etc. it is suggested to do it thru the Red Cross and other reputable organizations. It is sad, but this is a time where the worst of people comes out with the best. There are always the aftermath stories about "charities" setup to help only to be a scam to get your money. Sad, but true, so be sure you know that what you choose to give will get to the folks who need it most.
