Is anyone attending the NARBC?

rick millspaugh Aug 29, 2005 11:10 AM

Last years show was huge, not as big as Daytona, it should be even bigger this year in it's new location. A friend has asked my wife and I to help him in his booth so I will be there and would like to put a face with some of the names (except Eimon, he already has the missfortune of knowing who I am - lol).

I made the Chicago conference last year in Tinley Park and plan to hit it again this year in October, but I think you are speaking of the one out west. I expect the Chicago edition to be another python mega-fest however, but I will see a couple friends there again which makes it all worthwhile. Plus... my sweetie lives 5 minutes down the road which makes for free room and board for the weekend. Love that part!

As I'm sure the displeasure is mutual....lol. BTW- you have friends? And we don't need meximak out west either, he hangs with butterflies!

Come on now, look at this guy..... he's harmless!!! You wouldn't wanna hang out with a kind and gentle kingsnake lover like him?!! lol! Give me too much of a hard time and I'll jet out there, sneak you off to a butterfly exibit and calm you down a bit. Butterflies are very good for the soul...

( and all the cute girls hang out in the butterfly shack )

Mike, you have that "sensitive" thing down man - chicks dig that (lol).

mexicanamak Aug 30, 2005 07:39 PM

lol... I can dig it, can you dig it?!! It's really just a cover though Rick. Every zoo trip I make I am just ITCHIN' to get to the reptile exhibit.

Dang, I really should have paid more attention to the background of pic 2. Forget NARBC, I'm going to the B-fly Shack! Hey Mike, show me around? Now that I think of it, it sure beats seeing a bunch of inflated discolored balls.......har, har, har.

is it going to be held????????

rick millspaugh Aug 30, 2005 04:33 PM

I guess I should have added the Anaheim, CA NARBC that is being held at the Anaheim Convention Center. It is directly across the street (Katela) from Disneyland – the happiest dang place on Earth and proof positive that happiness isn’t cheep. Have you ever gone there with kids? They want everything; kind of like I am at a Reptile Show.

I was deluding myself into thinking I had friends; I should have said acquaintances – lol.

I sure hope it is not another “Ball Python fest”. I like looking at some of them (the piebalds call to me) but many of them just look like normal ball pythons to me. I guess some of the Ball Python breeders wouldn’t care for a bunch of Thayeri either (sicko’s). Anyway, there were way more than necessary at Daytona and not enough Thayeri. There were only a few Thayeri at last years Anaheim NARBC too though and none of them had to come home with me.

It seems every where I look someone is "making room" for their Ball Python Morphs and selling off their other stock....You can really run into some great deals. Ball Pythons are like crack.....I guess. You can get that 42" flat screen for $100!!! LOL

It does get a little annoying though when there isn't anything to see except Ball Pythons....The promoters should discount non-Ball Python people on their admission fee..
