Let me start off with my setup

Cage : 48 X 24 X 12
Lighting: Reptisun 5.0 with 60 WATT bulb
Water: Squirting into mouth while feeding misting for humidity
Dusting: Calcium vitd3 once a week and minerall-ALL once eveyr other week and vit once a month
Gutload: Veggies, collard greens, carrots etc I try to mix it up as often as I can
Diet: Crickets Silkies

My cham will fall asleep even with faint light present (his cage lights off but my small desk lamp on. He will close his eyes and fall alseep even when there is light present. This is because I got stranded on the highway when my car broke down and he stayed awake for 36 hours with the lights all on. I guess he learned to fall asleep even if with light present. That was about 3 months ago and things have been going perfect since. I came home today and found him upside down under the heat lamp with his eyes clsoed. He opened them when I approached and ate 6 crickets and drank water. Since then he has been very vigilient and his eyes are both open. Any ideas? Sick or just taking a nap?

Possibly it was very cloudy late in the day? If he doesn't do this again no problem. If he is sitting with eyes shut and not very responsive to any disturbance, maybe a problem. It's normal for chams to go to sleep if the intensity of the cage lighting changes a lot (all lights off except your desk lamp).
