american alligator

i am doing a project which american alligators and was aondering how far north i could find the right now. pretty abundantly. i dont want to search to hard just to find one. does anyone have any suggestions for me thank you and if you have spots feel free to let me know thanks. oh i will be about an hour south of nashville tenn. so closest to there would be great thanks
