normal monitor behaviour?

ibnz470 Aug 29, 2005 09:36 PM

I got a new water monitor friday and i wanted to wait for him to adjust befor i handeld him. He has been eating and been active since thyen so i held him today. He pooped on me a little when i first took him out and the tried to run a little but then he calmed down. i knew that was normal but after about a half hour he got up and started to crawl away from me so i kept walking him through my hands then he regurgetated 2 mice onto my couch. Is that just because he's scared or id there another reason for that. He is other wise very good. Thanks alot and sorry for the long post.

GOOD job! Not only did you scare the poop out of him, but his dinner too! haha Thats like double points there! j/k
It happens when they become very frightened, just as you suspected.

Maybe let him adjust for a while before you molest him again. Especially after hes eaten. hehe

Yup, and if you mess with them before they have time to digest their food they can upchuck it on you. Remember that when you handle them, you are putting pressure on their stomachs so it is very uncomfortable. This is especially true when their stomachs are full with rodents.

I don't like pressure on my stomach after a huge meal. They don't either.
