My Mexican Black Kingsnake Clutch....or something else....

S.Python Aug 29, 2005 09:50 PM

I bought a pair of breedable Mex Black Kings back in the spring and well I haven't bred them yet and she laid eggs this summer and they just hatched. My guess is that the owner bred the pair together but look at the pictures and you tell me...

I think he bred a Desert King to the Mexican Black Female! what do you think?

Some will hatch out pure black, but a high percentage have the splendida pattern as hatchlings - They will darken as they get older.

The answer is, not all mexican black kings are solid black. Mixed clutches are the rule. Some or most of your hatchlings should be solid black, correct? Also, the banding should be white as apposed to yellow. Hope this helps.

Thats the thing, the banding in yellow not white!! 6 eggs 2 are black...2 are a mix...and 2 look like a splendita(Yellow)!!! Its' just weird I've never seen a baby come out like this.

well whatever
