Feeding question for those who house two corns together

mauwdee Aug 29, 2005 10:31 PM

I have two corn snakes and i've been housing them together. I feed them on different days one on monday and the other on thursday. I set each in a deli cup to feed after they're done feeding I set them back to their cage. I have had no problems with them but I was just wondering if some of you guys do anything different like leave the fed snake in the deli cup until you feed the other to avoid them biting one another. Like I said I've had no problem up until now with my feeding schedule but im just wondering if I should worry about finding one hurt one day???

Very new to owning snakes I would also like to know what results would I get if I were to breed my butter motley and my sunglow motley????

thnx =)

Well, trying to feed 1 while both are in the same cage is definately a bad idea. The main thing to look for the way you're doing it feeding them seperately though, is if 1 starts to regurg constantly. Then it's obviously stressed by the others presence. Either way though, I would reccomend putting them in seperate enclosures in the near future rather than taking a chance.

As for breeding them together...unless they're both het for the other morph, my understanding is you'd end up with some butter, some sunglow, and each would be het for the other.

I house three together. They all get fed at the same time. Each snake has it's own feeding container to keep them separate from one another during feeding.
