Way too cute!

I think most of you have seen Gilean's Bachelor Pad...or "Pimp Palace"...

Between the 2nd and 3rd level, there is an opening. There used to be a plant in that spot, and I have long since removed it. Now there is a cool little tunnel. Every now and then, Gilean gets goofy and sits there with only his head peaking up into the 3rd level. It is just too adorable. And I SWEAR...he just sits there for 10 - 15 mins.

That is just too cute with his head poking out How did you get that stone for your background? Is it real or is it some kind of floor vinyl? And how did you get it stuck to the tank without it showing thru the glass? It looks really nice.

Those are just chunks of slate siliconed in place on the back wall. You have to put the tank on it's side for 24 hours to do this. Everything else is removable, which is why you don't see glue.

I see. I want to do something like that. Currently all I have is one female leo that I have housed in a 10 Gal. tank. I will be putting her in a 20 Gal. long eventually. I know the 10 gal. is supposed to be adequate for just one leo but it just seems too small to me. I was going to put a desert background on the one I have for now but may put something like a faux stone linoleum background instead. I think real stone/slate would be too much for the smaller tank.

It's all in how you design it. That tank is a 10G. I would say that it should be much easier to do in a 20g. If you do the slate on the wall, be sure to have a lid that clips. Both the gecko (not so much) and the food (crickets, roaches) can climb the wall and get out.

Some of the slate you're using to support the bigger pieces looks rather precarious. How do you ensure nothing falls over and hurts your leos? Of course, I'm out here in earthquake country where things move around a bit more. Looks great, btw.

Pretty much everything has supports that are glued to something else. There are 6 different parts in there (not including the floor). Everything is very stable, and there is only one small part that MIGHT come loose if shaken. It's been in place for over 6 months, and has never fallen or moved despite being bumped into many times.
