Mangrove Breeding Question

jasonmattes Aug 30, 2005 12:52 AM

Has anyone here actually bred mangs? If so how was it done.
Does anyone know how big the snakes need to be?

Thanks

I was lucky enough to Breed Mangroves quite a few years ago.
The adults were around 6ft long, and i kept them together all year round, only seperating for feeding.
The biggest problem i came across was the thickness of the shell,
and lost a few in egg.

Did you ever see them breed or did you just find a pile of eggs?
Was it difficult to get the babies to eat?
Do you have any suggestion if i was not going to keep the pair together year round? I currently only have one but it will only eat in the dark and will only eat live food so that could be a problem with two snakes together in the same enclosure.

Thanks for the help

I saw them breed on a few occaisions, lasted quite a while.
I was lucky in having a CB pair, and they fed very well on defrost.
The youngsters took a little coaxing, but quickly took defrost pinks on their own.
Hope this helps.
