9 day old ball, still no sign of shedding?

beeper71 Aug 30, 2005 06:18 AM

Well the little one is 9 days old now but is not showing any signs of an upcoming shed. It's my understanding you wait until after the first shed to offer food..right? Or can I try before that happens?

Am I worried over nothing? I would think one so young would need food soon after hatching.

They will be fine - they are fat and full of egg yolk still - mine shed out at 9 and 10 days and took their first meal the day after they shed. Except one and she's still fat and sassy after three weeks out of the egg and no food.

I have had them routinely go 14-17 days before the 1st shed. 10-12 days is the most common though.

She(?) shed overnight, did a nice job of it also, all in one piece.

Off to the pet store tonight to get some food!
