Hypo genetics question

BOASELECTER Aug 30, 2005 08:37 AM

What do you get if you put an orange tail hypo to a salmon?

obviously some norms, ornagetails and salmons but what are the ones that hold both genes?

does anyone have pics? would this make a possiblility for double super hypos??? is this something thats already happening?

cheers

sam

They are compatable mutations (hypothesized to be of the same bloodline if you go far back enough).

Statisticly: 25% Super Hypos; 50% Hypos, 25% Normals

Regarding "Which will be Gee and which will be Salmon?": It will be a polygenic blending like you see with any semi-unrelated breedings. Like breeding two different normals togethers: You could get some that look close to mom.. some inbetween.. some that look close to dad. Cant really lay out those percentages because it is impossible to know, that aspect is dictated by the strength of the genes in each parent.
