So, I'm looking into buying a thermostat. I was looking around, checking out prices, and I came up with a question that I hope you guys can answer. Some of these thermostats only have two or three outlets. I was wondering if it was possible to expand the use of the thermostat by plugging a strip into one of the outlets? Would the thermostat be able to control any heating device plugged into the strip? I was thinking about getting something like this:

and just plugging a strip into one of the outlets to expand it. I would think as long as I don't go over 1,000 watts I should be fine... but I'm no electrician. Please help me out here folks... don't wanna fry my babies!
