Thanks to those who responded about my ailing baby.
The last two days she has spent almost all of her time on the cool side (It also has the darker hide now that I compare them), with occassional night trips to the warm hide. So I am wondering if she is trying to help her own recovery by attempting to brumate best she can. I have never brumated anybody and I don't think I have the conditions to do so properly. It is currently offensively cold where I am and the house has uniform radiant floor heat so individual rooms can not be cooled, and there is no basement. It also is a bit late to start a brumation, but could I (after the next vet trip) start a pseudo-brumation? Thinking maybe an opaque rubbermaid, in a high closet shelf, for a few weeks. The coolest it could get would probably be 68F, but it would be dark and even quieter. How long? 2-3 weeks? Less? She is so small (20 grams) that if she makes it through whatever is causing the loss of appetite and regurge-ing, a big priority is going to be getting her weight up. Are respiratory infections a concern at that temp? Will her digestive fluids rebuild at that temp? All questions I will ask my vet, of course, but I'm the kind of person who over-thinks and -investigates *everything* . Thanks again for the words of comfort and information.
